The Sacramento Kings are trading second-year wing Nique Clifford to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for two future second-round draft picks, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Sacramento will acquire Utah's 2028 second-round pick and Minnesota's 2030 second-round pick in the permanent trade. The Kings sought a new destination for Clifford after he fell out of the rotation during the team's 1-8 start to the season.
Clifford was originally drafted 24th overall by Oklahoma City in 2025 before his rights were moved to Sacramento. The Thunder will absorb Clifford's $3.26 million salary using a trade exception and must clear a roster spot to complete the deal, while the Kings gain roster flexibility and luxury tax relief.
