Kyrie Irving is expected to make his return to action on Sunday in China, according to a report from Dallas Sports Journal. The Dallas Mavericks guard has been sidelined since tearing the ACL in his left knee on March 3, 2025. His planned return last season was previously delayed by a Grade 2 calf strain sustained in December, but he has recently practiced without restrictions since training camp began.
New Mavericks coach Dusty May praised Irving's leadership and mentorship of younger players, noting the significant gravity and knowledge he brings to the court. Kevin Durant also commended Irving, describing him as a savant and sharing that the guard is anxious and excited to play after more than 19 months away.
