Lakers and Bucks discuss Dalton Knecht-Jericho Sims swap

The Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks have engaged in exploratory talks regarding a trade involving Dalton Knecht, draft picks, and Jericho Sims. According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the proposed deal would send Knecht and second-round draft capital to Milwaukee in exchange for Sims. However, sources briefed on the discussions expressed pessimism that a trade will ultimately be completed.

Los Angeles currently carries 16 standard contracts and may have to waive Knecht if no deal is reached before the roster deadline. Knecht is guaranteed $4.2 million this season, while Milwaukee's Sims is in the final year of a two-year contract. Both teams face an October 19 deadline to trim their rosters to 15 players.
