Philadelphia 76ers forward LeBron James is reportedly managing chronic arthritis in his left foot and sciatica in his lower back ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season. The 41-year-old star joined Philadelphia in July 2026 on a two-year, $8 million deal, entering an unprecedented 24th season in the league. Neither condition has officially ruled him out, though the franchise is actively treating both issues during training camp.
James sat out Philadelphia's preseason opener against the New York Knicks alongside teammates Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey as healthy inactives. Head coach Nick Nurse continues to manage player workloads ahead of the regular season as James aims to pursue his fifth NBA championship.
