The Boston Celtics made a low-risk move on a former lottery pick, and it’s honestly something the LA Clippers should’ve done but chose not to.

Iliyan Lakhani of Clipperholics argues that the LA Clippers should have signed guard Devin Carter before the Boston Celtics acquired him. Carter, selected 13th overall in 2024, was traded by the Sacramento Kings to the Atlanta Hawks and subsequently waived before signing an Exhibit 10 deal with Boston.
The writer notes that Carter impressed during Boston's preseason victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, recording 17 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Lakhani believes Carter's two-way abilities would have significantly boosted a depleted Clippers backcourt under head coach Tyronn Lue.
