Ernie Johnson announced that he is leaving 'Inside the NBA' after 37 years following this season. Charles Barkley became emotional during Wednesday's ESPN broadcast: 'All I can say, Ernie, is thank you.'

Ernie Johnson announced he is stepping down as host of "Inside the NBA" after 37 seasons, stating the daily preparation has become more of a challenge than a joy. The 70-year-old broadcaster revealed that recent heart issues, including bypass surgery two months ago, contributed to his desire to slow down and spend more time with his family.
Co-hosts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kenny Smith offered emotional tributes, with Barkley hailing Johnson as their unquestionable leader. Johnson clarified he is not fully retiring, confirming he will continue covering March Madness for TNT and CBS alongside launching a new production company.
