The Story in 60 Seconds

Jeanie Buss has accused her five siblings of secretly plotting against her regarding the sale of the family's remaining Los Angeles Lakers shares, according to court filings. The dispute involves the Buss Family Trust's approximately 17.8% stake in the franchise. Siblings Johnny, Jim, Janie, Joey, and Jesse Buss voted 5-0 to sell the shares, which Jeanie's attorneys allege was an effort to force her out.

The siblings argue they are properly exercising sale rights granted by the trust, with each sibling potentially receiving around $371 million. A hearing is scheduled for December 8 in Los Angeles Superior Court. The conflict coincides with Mark Walter's separate proposed sale of his controlling Lakers stake to Josh Kushner's ownership group.
