JJ Redick Addresses Dalton Knecht Trade Rumors Before Lakers Cut Ties

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick addressed the uncertain future of wing Dalton Knecht ahead of the team's preseason finale against the Denver Nuggets. Redick acknowledged that roster changes, altered team needs, and incoming wing additions have placed Knecht in a challenging position. With the Lakers facing an upcoming deadline to trim the roster, Knecht has fallen out of the rotation and appears likely to be traded or waived.

Knecht has reportedly been linked to potential trade packages, including a proposed deal with the Milwaukee Bucks for Jericho Sims. Despite the ongoing speculation, Knecht stated to The Athletic that the organization has not directly discussed a trade or release with him, emphasizing that he remains confident, recognizes the business nature of the NBA, and is focused on controlling what he can on the court.
