JJ Redick is putting playing time behind his message to the Los Angeles Lakers: When an open 3-pointer is available, take it. After Sunday’s 131-125 win over the Toronto Raptors, the Lakers coach said he could recall four second-half possessions…

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick warned that players will face benching if they pass up wide-open three-pointers. Following a 131-125 victory over the Toronto Raptors, Redick highlighted four specific second-half possessions where open looks were declined. Redick stressed that players must capitalize on the defensive advantages created by Luka Doncic when opposing defenses commit multiple defenders to the ball.
In addition to the perimeter shooting warning, Redick noted that the team's newcomers are still learning their spacing arrangements. Ahead of their upcoming matchup against the Miami Heat, Redick stated that Sandro Mamukelashvili, Quentin Grimes, and Collin Sexton could eventually earn starting opportunities while the coaching staff continues to evaluate lineup combinations.
