Kawhi Leonard is expected to miss multiple weeks due to swelling in his left knee, ruling him out of the Toronto Raptors' upcoming game against the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena. ESPN's Shams Charania reported that an MRI revealed no structural damage, but the team will use the time to ramp Leonard back up following offseason stoppages.
The absence also prevents Leonard from facing his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, at Intuit Dome the following Monday. Through his first two appearances this season, Leonard averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 32.4% from the field before sitting out a 117-94 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
