The Los Angeles Lakers tried and failed to land Pete Nance. Did the pursuit tip their hand on who would have been gone among the two-ways?

The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly targeted Pete Nance for a two-way deal after his release by the Milwaukee Bucks, though Nance ultimately opted to return to Milwaukee. According to reports from Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, the Philadelphia 76ers had also joined Los Angeles in expressing interest before the roster cutdowns ahead of NBA Opening Night.
Writer Svyatoslav Rovenchuk argues that had the Lakers secured Nance, forward Arthur Kaluma likely would have been waived to clear space. The writer notes that Nance provides proven NBA stretch-four shooting, which threatens Kaluma's long-term job security amid redundancy among Los Angeles' two-way roster spots.
