The biggest hiccup for the Lakers during a night that didn’t feature many of them was a scary injury involving a key player on the roster.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick expressed encouragement regarding Jake LaRavia's injury status following a scary moment in the season opener against the Golden State Warriors. Midway through the fourth quarter, LaRavia awkwardly twisted his right ankle and lower leg while driving against LJ Cryer. He writhed in pain on the floor but was later able to put weight on the leg before heading to the locker room.
Redick stated he felt more positive about the situation than when it first occurred, noting that LaRavia will undergo further evaluation. Before exiting, LaRavia contributed 10 points off the bench on 4-of-5 shooting during a dominant win powered by Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler.
