After a busy offseason period for the Los Angeles Lakers marked by free agent and trade activity, fans of the Purple and Gold have been eager to see the new-look roster in action.
Austin Reaves, Walker Kessler, Collin Sexton, and Arthur Kaluma were ruled out of the Los Angeles Lakers' preseason opener against the Sacramento Kings. According to Lakers head coach JJ Redick, Kessler injured his finger on a backboard, while Reaves tweaked an ankle, leaving both players day-to-day. Redick emphasized that the team is exercising caution with minor injuries ahead of the regular season.
With multiple rotation pieces sidelined, the Lakers are expected to start Luka Doncic and Quentin Grimes in the backcourt, alongside Matisse Thybulle, Ziaire Williams, and Kevon Looney in the frontcourt. Redick plans to limit most active players to 10 to 20 minutes while evaluating different lineup combinations against Sacramento.
