Lakers’ Isaiah Stewart Trade Talks Resurface After Surprising Revelation

Memphis Grizzlies center Isaiah Stewart revealed that his agent initially thought he might be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers or Washington Wizards before being dealt to Memphis last summer. The Detroit Pistons ultimately traded Stewart to the Grizzlies for three future second-round picks after receiving a sudden offer, according to an Andscape report by Marc J. Spears.

The revelation revisits previous reports that the Lakers had contacted Detroit regarding Stewart's availability. Heavy reports that the missed pursuit highlights current frontcourt issues for head coach JJ Redick, as offseason signing Kevon Looney has fallen out of the regular rotation, averaging only 5.8 minutes across five appearances.
