With the Los Angeles Lakers in need of a bounce-back win after falling to the Golden State Warriors to open the Emirates NBA Cup group play stage, superstar Luka Doncic set the tone defensively and filled up the stat sheet…

Luka Doncic delivered an unprecedented performance Sunday night, recording 45 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and five steals to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 131-125 home victory over the Toronto Raptors. The win improved the Lakers to 5-2 on the season as Doncic dominated on both ends of the floor, also adding eight 3-pointers and a block to bounce back from an Emirates NBA Cup loss to Golden State.
Doncic set multiple historical marks during the contest, becoming the first player in NBA history to record four steals and four 3-pointers in an opening quarter. He also made franchise history by logging his sixth game with at least eight 3-pointers, surpassing Kobe Bryant. Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised Doncic's defensive containment and communication, noting that he also drew three charges alongside his 15 defensive rebounds.
