The Mavericks made a key Kyrie Irving decision amid a new health concern before their NBA Cup matchup against the Jazz.

The Dallas Mavericks have upgraded guard Kyrie Irving to probable ahead of Friday night's NBA Cup clash against the Utah Jazz, despite a newly emerged illness. Irving recently returned after missing the 2025-26 season following surgery to repair a torn left ACL, though his latest status designation is unrelated to knee issues.
Irving scored 29 points in Wednesday's 112-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs and is averaging 22.7 points across six games. Teammates Santi Aldama and Max Christie are also listed as probable, while Dereck Lively II remains out following right foot surgery.
