New Role For Michael Finley Among Mavs’ Basketball Ops Changes

The Dallas Mavericks announced several basketball operations changes on September 24, 2026, including a transition for longtime front office executive Michael Finley under new president Masai Ujiri. Finley, who previously served as co-general manager alongside Matt Riccardi, has been named senior director of player, community, and alumni engagement. In this new position, Finley will focus on fostering relationships with players, alumni, and the North Texas community.

Dallas also confirmed multiple other front office additions. Nico Berg was named executive director of health and performance, while Tim Chung was hired from the Grizzlies as director of basketball operations. Former Raptors staffers Patrick Engelbrecht and Matt Redfield joined the staff alongside Blaise Ross, Joe Touomou, and Ijeoma Ofomata.
