The Milwaukee Bucks' now-starting small forward needs to be better if he wants to stay in town.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. has struggled through the team's first two preseason games as he seeks a rookie-scale contract extension. Writer Franco Luna argues that Jaquez's early exhibition performances against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder have stalled his extension momentum ahead of the October 19 deadline.
Jaquez has shot just 6-of-19 from the field combined across both contests while displaying foul trouble and hesitant offense. Luna notes that unless Jaquez quickly improves his play, Milwaukee's front office will likely bypass an immediate deal and let him enter restricted free agency next summer.
