The Minnesota Timberwolves cleared up minutes for Joan Beringer this offseason, and he's handling a bigger role nicely so far.

Eamon Cassels writes that second-year big man Joan Beringer is successfully fulfilling his elevated role as a backup center for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Through the first seven games of the season, Beringer is averaging 7.1 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 60.6 percent from the field, providing a valuable offensive spark.
Cassels highlights Beringer's elite offensive rebounding and lob threat ability, arguing he offers more offensive punch than Rudy Gobert amid Gobert's struggles. Beringer also started in place of an injured Gobert against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs, scoring 12 points while holding his own despite Wembanyama's 43-point outburst.
