Rudy Gobert’s quiet scoring night hid a much bigger contribution to the Timberwolves’ dominant opener and Chris Finch made sure it didn’t go unnoticed.

Janik Eckardt argues that Rudy Gobert's low-scoring output of five points obscured his major impact during the Minnesota Timberwolves' 131–106 victory over the Miami Heat. While Anthony Edwards scored 45 points and LaMelo Ball added 21 points, head coach Chris Finch praised Gobert for his screening that created open looks for Minnesota's guards.
Gobert also anchored the interior by grabbing 15 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, helping the Timberwolves dominate Miami in offensive rebounding. Eckardt notes that Minnesota outscored the Heat by 29 points during Gobert's minutes on the court, demonstrating his broader value beyond scoring.
