The Timberwolves waived Drew Timme on Saturday, but he could still be brought back on a two-way contract.

Writer Eamon Cassels argues that the Minnesota Timberwolves should re-sign Drew Timme to a two-way contract to fill their newly vacant roster spot. The opening emerged after Minnesota waived forward Enrique Freeman. Although the Timberwolves recently waived Timme on Saturday, Cassels notes that the team could bring the Gonzaga product back on a two-way deal once he clears waivers to add offensive frontcourt depth.
Cassels contends that Timme provides needed playmaking and system familiarity behind bench frontcourt options Joan Beringer and Trey Lyles. Head coach Chris Finch noted the team seeks size and passing, while confirming players previously competing for two-way spots remain in contention as the Timberwolves assess options.
