Tyrese Haliburton records 23 points and 12 assists in an emotional NBA comeback after Achilles surgery.

Tyrese Haliburton emotionally reflected on his 16-month rehabilitation following an Achilles injury after making his return to NBA action. The Indiana Pacers guard recorded 23 points and 12 assists in 34 minutes to help defeat the New Orleans Pelicans 123-120 in their season opener on Wednesday.
Haliburton's comeback followed 486 days away after tearing his right Achilles tendon during Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. Pascal Siakam paced Indiana with 30 points, while Obi Toppin scored 20 points as the Pacers rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit.
