Jeremiah Fears needs to be the Pelicans' starting point guard, and his play in New Orleans preseason finale was the cherry on top of his case.

Writer Chris Lambert argues that Jeremiah Fears should start at point guard for the New Orleans Pelicans in their regular-season opener against the Indiana Pacers. The Pelicans concluded their preseason schedule with a 107-106 victory over the Washington Wizards, during which Fears recorded 14 points, five assists, three rebounds, and three steals while shooting 5-of-11 from the field.
Lambert contends that Fears' elite speed and court vision elevate New Orleans' offense, particularly highlighting the sophomore guard's on-court chemistry with center Yves Missi. With Dejounte Murray's opening night status uncertain, Lambert believes head coach Jamahl Mosley should start Fears regardless of Murray's availability.
