The New Orleans Pelicans have officially waived forward Caleb Houstan, while the Dallas Mavericks have signed forward Matt Cross to a training camp deal. Houstan, a four-year NBA veteran, had joined New Orleans on an Exhibit 9 training camp contract in early August before appearing in two preseason games for the team.
Cross, who went undrafted out of SMU in 2025, previously spent the 2025/26 season with the Mavericks' G League affiliate, the Texas Legends. He reportedly appears likely to be waived by Dallas soon to become eligible for a bonus with the Legends.
