Mohamed Diawara had eight points, five rebounds, a steal and a block in the Knicks' opener. Next, he needs to earn steady minutes.

Alexander Wilson of Empire Sports Media argues that Mohamed Diawara's value to the New York Knicks extends beyond his eight points in a 120-97 preseason loss against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 21-year-old forward recorded five rebounds, one steal, and one block across 17 minutes and 29 seconds of action.
Wilson suggests that Diawara's appeal lies in rebounding and defensive contributions rather than scoring, though he notes that Diawara missed all three three-point attempts and recorded two turnovers. The Knicks next host the Washington Wizards on October 8.
