Earlier this week, footage of the Philadelphia 76ers star quickly went viral after their victory over the NBA champion New York Knicks on the first day of the new season.
LeBron James dismissed criticism from Donald Trump after the president called him a "total disgrace" on Truth Social and demanded an apology. Trump attacked the Philadelphia 76ers forward for practicing his golf swing and free throw motions during the national anthem before Tuesday's 106-100 season-opening victory against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Asked about Trump's comments following Philadelphia's subsequent win, James mocked the remarks by stating, "It must be a slow news day at the office."
Trump doubled down on his criticism during an Iowa rally on Thursday night, reigniting a feud between the two that dates back to 2017. Later on Thursday, the 41-year-old James helped Philadelphia mount a 29-point comeback to defeat his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, 114-106 at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
