The Story in 60 Seconds

Thunderous Intentions argues that rookie center Aday Mara provides the Oklahoma City Thunder with an unguardable interior weapon they lacked last season. Through his first two preseason games, the 7-foot-3 Spaniard recorded 34 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks across 43 minutes while shooting a perfect 15-for-15 from the field.

Writer Zane Gelphman highlights that Mara's size unlocks elite alley-oop capabilities alongside playmakers Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Ajay Mitchell. Gelphman notes Mara's vertical presence offers a finishing dynamic distinct from fellow Thunder big men Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Jaylin Williams.
