The Spurs ended the Thunder’s season. They’re not going to consume their offseason, too. Oklahoma City lost Game 7 of the Western Conference finals to San Antonio after also losing the regular-season series.
Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault stated that the franchise is not altering its roster specifically to counter Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs. The comments follow Oklahoma City's Game 7 loss to San Antonio in the Western Conference finals, along with a defeat in their regular-season series. Daigneault emphasized that the team must maintain a broad approach to remain competitive across all league opponents.
Center Chet Holmgren echoed the coach's perspective, noting that his offseason approach remains unchanged despite personal struggles against Wembanyama, including a four-point outing in Game 7. Daigneault explained that the Thunder's offseason evaluation followed its standard procedure of assessing strengths and weaknesses across the entire league rather than focusing solely on San Antonio.
