The LA Clippers have gotten some bad injury updates as of late, and, though it may sound strange, the OKC Thunder could end up seriously benefiting.

Mark Nilon of Thunderous Intentions writes that the Oklahoma City Thunder's 2027 first-round pick swap with the LA Clippers has dramatically increased in value. Recent setbacks for Los Angeles include injuries to Brandon Ingram, Bradley Beal, and rookie Yanic Konan Niederhauser, following the departure of Kawhi Leonard. These misfortunes reportedly boost the likelihood of the pick landing high in the lottery.
Nilon adds that regardless of draft positioning, Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault highlighted general manager Sam Presti's unique evaluation process. Daigneault revealed that prospect selection prioritizes team culture and dedication to off-court preparation, such as film study, over pure individual upside.
