The Thunder have waived Buddy Boeheim, Nate Johnson, Lamar Wilkerson and Christoph Tilly, the team announced Saturday, bringing their roster down to 17 players.
The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Saturday that they waived Buddy Boeheim, Nate Johnson, Lamar Wilkerson, and Christoph Tilly. The roster moves trimmed the team's squad down to 17 players ahead of the regular season. All four players had been signed to Exhibit 10 contracts, making them eligible for bonuses worth up to $91,000 if they spend at least 60 days with the team's G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue.
Boeheim, Johnson, and Wilkerson had brief stints with the Thunder, with Boeheim signed and waived on the same day. Oklahoma City now carries 14 standard contracts and three two-way deals, leaving one standard roster spot vacant. Leaving that spot open provides financial flexibility beneath the second tax apron and limits the team's projected luxury-tax bill without requiring further cuts.
