The Orlando Magic suffered a triple injury scare during their 136-115 preseason victory over the Miami Heat on Friday. Star forward Franz Wagner exited the contest early due to right shoulder soreness and did not return. In addition to Wagner, rookie guard Jase Richardson left with lower-back soreness, while forward Noah Penda was sidelined by right hamstring tightness ahead of opening night.
New head coach Sean Sweeney stated that the injured players will undergo further medical evaluations, leaving their availability uncertain before Wednesday's regular season opener against the Atlanta Hawks. Orlando was also missing Anthony Black and Jonathan Isaac for the exhibition finale, further testing the roster's depth as the coaching staff finalizes early-season rotations.
