Orlando Magic hope road trip can bring team together and spark a turnaround

The Orlando Magic hope an upcoming four-game West Coast road trip will bring the team together and spark a turnaround following a disappointing 2-5 start to the season. After consecutive home defeats to the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards, players Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane expressed optimism that the team can clean up execution issues, reduce turnovers, and establish consistency.

Coach Sean Sweeney noted that the squad lost execution and defensive principles down the stretch in recent games. Orlando currently ranks 23rd in offensive rating and 25th in defensive rating, but players and staff believe returning to their core defensive identity during the road trip against more favorable competition will help right the season.
