The Orlando Magic were curious to see how their training camp lessons would translate onto the court. Their first preseason game gave them a clear proof of concept.

The Orlando Magic successfully applied their training camp concepts to live competition during a 122-118 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in their preseason opener on Wednesday. Head coach Sean Sweeney praised the roster's connectivity, communication, and execution under his new system. Players highlighted strong ball movement and defensive intensity as key drivers of their performance.
Orlando recorded 35 assists on 41 made field goals and sank 20 of 45 three-point attempts. Center Wendell Carter and forward Paolo Banchero expressed confidence in the team's offensive flow. Despite issues with fouling and rebounding, the Magic view the victory as positive proof of concept ahead of their next preseason matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
