The Orlando Magic have a new head coach (Sean Sweeney), and they could soon have a new sixth man as well. Orlando could potentially trade away guard Anthony Black, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reported on Friday.
The Orlando Magic could potentially trade guard Anthony Black, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. Rival NBA teams are reportedly monitoring Black's availability ahead of the October 19 rookie extension deadline, with Orlando facing roughly $32 million in luxury tax penalties and holding limited draft assets following their previous acquisition of Desmond Bane.
Black, selected sixth overall in 2023, averaged 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists last season while making 40 starts. Under new head coach Sean Sweeney, Orlando may consider a permanent trade if the front office decides against extending Black, which would otherwise lead to restricted free agency next summer.
