Ex-Teammate Details When Animosity Began Between Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum

Former Boston Celtics guard Jeff Teague detailed on his Club 520 podcast that competitive tension between Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown started early in their careers. Teague explained that while both were No. 3 overall draft picks, Tatum started immediately while Brown had to earn his starting role, fueling a rivalry over who was viewed as the better player.

The comments followed recent public statements from both players regarding their relationship after spending nine seasons together and winning the 2024 NBA championship. While Tatum downplayed any animosity, Brown hinted at lingering competitive friction, and Teague noted Brown strongly desires to be regarded on the same superstar level as Tatum.
