The Kings cannot seem to stay out of the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately.

According to NBA insider Zach Lowe, Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive turned a team training dinner into a roast aimed at players, coaches, and staff. Ranadive reportedly addressed the room by highlighting the various ways attendees had been failing in their respective roles ahead of the 2026-2027 season.
The off-court incident adds to recent scrutiny surrounding the franchise, which recently faced a hot-mic controversy involving media members discussing Ben Simmons and Zach LaVine. On the court, Sacramento is integrating rookie Darius Acuff Jr. and Simmons ahead of the new campaign.
