The Sacramento Kings continuing to start De'Andre Hunter makes absolutely no sense.

Writer Ian Goodwillie argues that the Sacramento Kings should remove veteran forward De'Andre Hunter from the starting lineup. Acquired at the 2026 trade deadline from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Hunter missed most of last season with an eye injury and is currently averaging 5.7 points and 5.3 rebounds across 24.7 minutes per game.
Goodwillie contends that the Kings need to prioritize developing younger forwards like Nique Clifford and Alex Karaban. With Ben Simmons and Keegan Murray sidelined by injuries, the writer believes starting Hunter makes little sense for the rebuilding roster.
