Six Under-The-Radar Veteran Extension Candidates To Watch

Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors highlights under-the-radar veteran extension candidates ahead of the upcoming NBA season, identifying players whose situations deserve attention alongside marquee stars. While top draft picks face the rookie scale extension deadline and superstars approach 2027 free agency, Adams argues that less-heralded contributors also present compelling cases for early long-term commitments.

The piece specifically focuses on Charlotte Hornets center Moussa Diabate, who emerged as a starter during the 2025/26 season after initially arriving on a two-way deal. Adams views locking up the 24-year-old Hustle Award winner as a priority for Charlotte before he reaches unrestricted free agency next summer.
