The San Antonio Spurs plan to give guards De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper more playing time together during October's preseason preparations. Head coach Mitch Johnson played the trio for nearly 10 minutes during Sunday's Silver & Black Scrimmage. That appearance is significant after the three guards shared the court for only 25 minutes during the entire previous regular season.
While starting lineups and closing units remain undecided, the coaching staff intends to test how the three playmakers complement one another. Castle noted that the unselfish nature of the trio will help them adjust, while Johnson emphasized the importance of gaining on-court repetitions to see how the combination functions.
