Flipping for Giannis makes a terrifying amount of sense. Antetokounmpo is the ultimate paint protector and an unstoppable force rolling to the rim—a perfect counter to a player like Wembanyama. A trade package would likely have to start with either Holmgren or Jalen Williams, both of whom begin massive contract extensions in the 2026-27 season, making the salaries match. For a Milwaukee Bucks team that lacks future draft assets, a deal with OKC could fast-track a rebuild. The Thunder could offer a young star, promising role players like Cason Wallace and Ajay Mitchell, and a mountain of draft picks.
Still, the move is a huge gamble. The Thunder have been the best team in the West for three straight regular seasons with their current core. Blowing it up now could wreck their chemistry. Injuries were a major factor in the playoffs, with Williams dealing with health issues and Mitchell missing key games.
