Oklahoma City sent the No. 37 selection, Ryan Conwell, to Miami, receiving the No. 41 pick and cash in return, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. This transaction occurred on June 24, aligning with the Thunder’s strategy of maintaining flexibility and accumulating future assets.
“Sources: Oklahoma City is trading No. 37 Ryan Conwell to the Miami Heat for No. 41 and cash,” Charania reported. The Thunder entered the draft following a dominant 64-18 regular season, securing the top seed in the Western Conference. Miami, having finished the 2025-26 season 43-39 and earning a Play-In Tournament spot as the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference, used their acquired pick to select Ryan Conwell, a 6-foot-3 guard.
Conwell, a high-volume perimeter scorer, averaged 18.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists as a senior at Louisville in 2025-26, shooting 34.5% from beyond the arc on 9.6 attempts per game. His offensive game focused on creating from the perimeter. Oweh, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Kentucky, averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in his senior year. He shot 46.5% from the field and 33.3% from three. Oweh brings extensive college experience, known for his ability to drive and finish around the basket, along with strong defensive potential. His four-year college career, including time at Oklahoma, showcased a player capable of scoring efficiently inside the arc and contributing defensively with steals. This trade allows the Thunder to add Oweh’s skill set to a roster already built for contention, potentially bolstering their backcourt depth with a versatile two-way player.
