Barrett willing to wait on contract with Raptors

Toronto Raptors guard RJ Barrett expressed patience regarding a contract extension for the 2027-28 season during the team's media day on Monday. The 26-year-old is entering the final season of his contract, set to earn $29.6 million before becoming an unrestricted free agent next offseason.

Barrett said he is focusing strictly on his on-court performance and leaving discussions to his agent, Bill Duffy. Raptors general manager Bobby Webster stated that ownership remains supportive of spending and that recent extensions will not hinder Toronto's ability to retain Barrett.
