Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic made one thing clear ahead of his team’s first game of the 2026-27 NBA season, and that’s they are not the New York Knicks.
Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic dismissed comparisons to the defending champion New York Knicks ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season opener. When asked by reporters on Tuesday what Toronto could emulate from New York, Rajakovic firmly stated that the Raptors focus on their own identity and do not compare themselves to other teams.
Rajakovic enters his fourth season leading Toronto following a 46-36 campaign that brought a playoff appearance. Bolstered by the offseason addition of Kawhi Leonard, the Raptors open their regular season on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls at Scotiabank Arena.
