The Raptors limited Anthony Davis in a way they hadn’t been able to for quite some time.

The Toronto Raptors secured a 10-point victory over the Washington Wizards by holding star Anthony Davis to just nine points on 25 percent shooting. Scottie Barnes and Collin Murray-Boyles led the defensive effort against Davis, marking the first time Toronto has kept him under 20 points since November 2022.
The defensive display highlighted an encouraging start to the season for the Raptors, who have held opponents to 34.8 percent shooting across their first two games. Elaine Blum notes that Toronto's defensive success comes despite an undersized frontcourt rotation and suggests high expectations following the addition of Kawhi Leonard.
