Utah Jazz forward Ace Bailey played in the season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies but went scoreless throughout the first half. Bailey played 13 minutes, missing both of his field-goal attempts, including a 3-pointer, without attempting a free throw. Despite being held without a point, he tallied three rebounds, three assists, and three blocks while finishing the half with a minus-9 rating.
Bailey, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, is entering his second season after averaging 13.8 points as a rookie. Billy Heyen notes that Bailey is projected to serve primarily as a backup forward this season behind Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr. in Utah's rotation.
