The Utah Jazz have reportedly lost their starting center, Jusuf Nurkic, for four weeks after their back-to-back clashes with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
Utah Jazz starting center Jusuf Nurkic will be sidelined for at least four weeks after suffering a partial plantar plate tear of the second toe in his right foot, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes. The injury occurred around the team's preseason back-to-back games against the Denver Nuggets, leaving Nurkic out for the upcoming start of the regular season.
Nurkic sat out Utah's 117-106 loss to Denver after recording four points and five rebounds in an earlier 109-97 win. With Lauri Markkanen and Kyle Filipowski also nursing minor injuries, head coach Will Hardy may rely on Jaxson Hayes, Mo Bamba, or altered lineups featuring Ace Bailey during the remainder of the preseason.
