Utah Jazz center Jusuf Nurkic is expected to miss at least four weeks after suffering a partial plantar plate tear in his right second toe. The team confirmed the injury occurred during Sunday's preseason opener and announced that he will be reevaluated in four weeks.
Free agent addition Jaxson Hayes, alongside Kyle Filipowski, Mo Bamba, and Jaren Jackson Jr., could help fill the frontcourt void during Nurkic's absence. Nurkic, who agreed to a two-year, $22 million contract in June, averaged 10.9 points and 10.4 rebounds for Utah last season.
