The Washington Wizards got a star debut from AJ Dybantsa, which was the complete opposite performance than what Alex Sarr delivered in his first NBA game.

Wiz of Awes writer Tyler Watts argues that AJ Dybantsa's impressive debut shows he is the true superstar the Washington Wizards hoped for when drafting Alex Sarr. Dybantsa scored 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting across 27 minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers after returning from an ankle injury. Watts highlights how the number one overall pick scored within the flow of the offense.
In contrast, Watts notes that Sarr struggled heavily during his rookie debut and has not developed into an elite scoring option. Although Sarr recently recorded 18 points and four steals while benefiting from Dybantsa's spacing, Watts contends that Sarr projects as a quality starter rather than the franchise cornerstone Washington found in Dybantsa.
