The Story in 60 Seconds

Former NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins proposed that the Minnesota Timberwolves trade center Rudy Gobert for Anthony Davis. Speaking on Gil's Arena, Cousins suggested the move after Minnesota guard Anthony Edwards underwent right knee arthroscopic surgery, which is expected to sideline him for up to two months. Cousins argued that Davis would provide much-needed offensive support alongside LaMelo Ball during Edwards' absence.

Gilbert Arenas questioned the proposal, noting Cousins was pitching Gobert despite highlighting his offensive struggles. Furthermore, substantial salary differences would complicate any direct swap, as Davis earns roughly $58.5 million compared to Gobert's $36.5 million. Cousins argued the trade would free up scoring opportunities for Washington Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa while giving Washington an established defensive anchor.
