Knicks Pushed to Trade Karl-Anthony Towns to East Rival for 10x All-Star PF

Bleacher Report's Andrew Peters proposed that the New York Knicks trade Karl-Anthony Towns to the Washington Wizards for Anthony Davis. The proposal comes amid reports that contract extension talks between Towns and the Knicks have stalled following New York's 2026 NBA championship run. Towns stated that negotiations were not close to reaching an agreement that values him, prompting trade speculation.

Meanwhile, the Wizards face their own contract uncertainty with Davis, who is reportedly seeking a maximum extension that Washington is reluctant to offer. Davis also revealed plans to decide on his future player option following the 2026-27 campaign. Peters argued a star swap would benefit both sides, though the Knicks reportedly prefer retaining Towns alongside Jalen Brunson.
